A user is a person who uses a computer or any other such device. The term "user" is generally used to describe someone who is not an expert on a particular subject but uses that knowledge in their daily life. For example, a user of the Internet would be someone who uses it to find information or communicate with others online.
A user can also be referred to as an "end-user" or "client," which means they are the person who will use the software or service provided by the software company. The term "end-user" is also commonly used in reference to computer programming where it means the person who will actually use the program once it has been developed. This differs from "developer", who creates the code for the program and does not necessarily need to know how to use it once finished.
When referring to computer systems, user may also mean those people who interact directly with those systems either through software interfaces or external devices such as keyboards and mice (also known as human-computer interfaces). In this sense, users are part of what is known as an ecosystem: they form part of a larger system that includes programmers, developers, and designers working on improving those systems alongside them.
